Qieyi Liu

Qieyi Liu is a PhD candidate working on modern Chinese cultural history and history of science. Interested in the politics of knowing and inhabiting "nature," her dissertation project uncovers diverse ways of more-than-human entanglements through an examination of Chinese natural scientists as knots of cultural encounters in the first half of the twentieth century. More broadly, she explores how to bring perspectives and problematics of environmental humanities to the field of modern Chinese history and culture.
