Taiwan is a key historical link among many Austronesian communities. It is home to 16 Indigenous groups and 15 officially recognized Indigenous languages. This one-day workshop brings together researchers and Indigenous artists from Taiwan to introduce Atayal weaving techniques and Paiwan music and instrument making. Participants will learn how weaving, music, and dance shape Indigenous life on the island, and how these practices continue to carry meaning for Taiwan’s Indigenous past and future.
