Biography

Han Wang is an M.A. student in modern Chinese history in the Department of East Asian Studies and a collaborative student with the Women and Gender Studies Institute. His previous thesis traces the transnational movements of Macau left-wing women and their organizations in the twentieth century. Moving beyond state-centered narratives, that thesis identifies a hybrid form of socialist feminism at the margins and bridges the past of Chinese feminism with global socialist feminism.

Before graduate school, Han worked for several tech companies in Shanghai as an operations specialist focusing on recommendation systems and community management. He has consistently worked as a graphic and UI designer on a freelance and part-time basis.
