His current interests include the histories and peoples of the southern frontier during the Zhou dynasty, particularly those of Wu, Yue, and Chu, with an additional broad interest in imperial Chinese texts and translation. Having completed a BA in Linguistics earlier on in his academic career, he also has a strong interest in East Asian historical linguistics. Thanks to internship in Japanese Art & Culture at the Royal Ontario Museum in 2025, he recently gained a nascent appreciation for Japanese prints and paintings.
