We are delighted to share that Zhiying He, our senior undergraduatee student and a stellar incoming MA student, has been awarded the 2026 Graduate Student Award by the Early Medieval China Group. The award was presented at the Ninth Conference of the Early Medieval China Group, held in Vancouver, BC on March 12, 2026.
Zhiying He received this recognition for their outstanding presentation, “Beyond Feminine Melancholy: Shen Manyuan’s Buddhist Seeing of Small Things in Sixth-Century Palace-Style Poetry.” Selected by the Board of Directors as one of the two most exceptional graduate student contributions to this year’s conference.
