Earlier this academic year, the Department of East Asian Studies partnered with the U of T K-pop Dance Club (UTKDC) to host a K-pop dance workshop in the EAS Lounge, led by professional instructor Ms. Soonbin Park. During the session, students learned choreography from “We Go Up” by BABYMONSTER and “FASHION” by CORTIS.
Students showed up with an abundance of passion and energy throughout the workshop. After the teaching session, a play dance segment was opened, providing a chance for students to showcase their talent. The room was filled with excitement, transforming the EAS Lounge into a lively dance floor.
Prizes were awarded to students who stood out for their dancing; alongside, food and snacks were served. It was a much-needed moment of relaxation during the final exam season.
The workshop fostered an inclusive environment, with students actively engaging and supporting one another. Held during the final exam season, it offered a valuable opportunity to unwind while encouraging creativity and participation.
