FAS Graduate Conference Travel Grant Program
The department of EAS is in receipt of a small amount of funds from the Faculty of Arts and Science to be distributed to a few doctoral students who will present/have presented at academic conferences in this academic year.
Applications are due by February 15 of each year. Eligible trips should have been made between September of the previous year through August of the year of application. Please note that this grant is NOT for research trips. Conferences must take place outside of Toronto. Please submit one application per conference.
In your application, please state the following items in an email to the Graduate Administrator (firstname.lastname@example.org):
Year in the program: (e.g., 1st year, 2nd year…)
Title of the conference:
Name of the conference sponsoring organization:
Estimated number of the attendees:
Title of the paper you are presenting(if you are a discussant or panel
chair, state your function):
Status of your conference application (e.g., accepted, invited,
acceptance pending and expected as of which date):
Budget plan (e.g., registration, airfare, ground transportation, accommodation, other pertinent expenses/ other sources and application status for other grants):
Do you have other financial support already secured for this travel? If so, what kind of support and for how much:
Are you eligible to apply for other types of support for this conference travel? If yes, what funding opportunities are available to you (please indicate their deadlines):
Have you received the FAS Conference Grant in previous years? If yes, please state which year(s) and amount(s):
N.B. Please keep the receipts and boarding passes from all of your conferences in case you are awarded this grant (in many cases, the application deadline for the grant will be after you have attended the conference). We look forward to receiving your applications.
